Warm greetings from chilly Durban. Fashion trends and fads had over recent years saw many “Hollywood” celebrities adopting children. As like many trends being emulated by “Hollywood” adoption became a trend to follow.
The reality of a miracle family would display a day to day life so far removed from “Hollywood ” with their nannies and chauffeurs. The reality of our miracle families are hard work, being committed to the daily routine of establishing a stable home filled with love, nurture, care, nutrition, culture and spiritual grounding. As is the way with all families.
Entering the process of adoption must be done with eyes wide open. There is nothing glamorous about the process or the day to day. It is many days of heart wrenching emotions that have you on your knees undone by the enormity of the requirement of this parenting.
While we may sometimes flaunt the pretty pictures the reality is not always picture perfect. It’s a commitment to raise our children to be good, gracious, hardworking, graced individuals who would make a valuable contribution to change society for the better.
May the fads and trends and fake fade and may the true heart of adoption always be illuminating the forefront of every decision we make.
