Warm greetings from yet another blistering day in Durban. What a week it’s been. So many unexpected twists and turns, we are hopeful that these things that come to derail, distract and upset us would be resolved soonest and without incident. We have made it through though.
When the unexpected happens we have to dig deep inside to a resolve within us, for me this depth comes from my faith. It is imperative to take hopeful steps forward. Many times we may find ourselves in a tailspin, spinning makes one dizzy. We must step off the roller coaster. Take deep breaths.
Worry is an awful waste of time, I cannot begin to tell you the time I’ve wasted worrying over things that were either beyond my control or were within my control but just needed the right action to be executed swiftly.
I’ve since learnt to assess the situation, weigh it against what I believe in the Scriptures, say a prayer and then act on the resolve. Sometimes no action is required, faith may means waiting. Pursue other tasks during the waiting. Don’t be idle.
I am not one for fake it till you make. Lying to oneself will get you nowhere. Being real and honest with oneself firstly, is the only way to reach a resolution. Glean on the advice and assistance of those around you.
No man is an island. It is said that we are stronger together. A circle of authentic friends is much needed at times. Your circle does not have to be large. A simple word of encouragement can make all the difference to your trend of thought. We are never meant to journey alone. Relinquish pride that would hold us back. We need to allow ourselves to be held in prayer and support by those who see and identify with our plight.
Life is full of varying moments, a kaleidoscope of emotions and myriad of responses, may we be blessed to have the right people in our lives to share these with. Don’t do it alone.
Love always
