Good morning good people. What a memorable week. On June 30th 1923 the Adoption of Children Act was promulgated and began operating shortly after that in South Africa.
Of recent I have been told that the process has become more scrutinized. Against the backdrop of a world gone crazy with child trafficking and kidnapping it is in the best interest of our nation’s children that precautions have been put in place.
We will forever be grateful to God for a seamless and smooth adoption process. Our daughter has definitely entered the tween years. Most days are challenging with a myriad of questions, opinions and attitude on all matters.
As we celebrated my dad’s 70th birthday this past week, an amazing milestone, Ziva found her place at dad’s right hand throughout. Watching her engage with him and everyone, being her vibrant self, bringing her own sparkly to the proceedings made me realize just how blessed we are by her delightful presence.
It is God who brought us together. As everyone present said a few words to dad she waited patiently for her turn. As the littlest person present she was the last to speak. Her exuberance in the love between her Pa and her was seen and felt through her words and actions. She belongs.
Such beautiful sensitive scenes shared, such amazing love displayed, such sweet sentiments exchanged and such memorable moments made.
I am grateful for the Adoption of Children Act being promulgated on 30th June 1923, on this 30 June 2022 we experienced the beauty of this Act in our home. The miracle of adoption has many twists and turns, all of which helps us grown into a strong family.
Love always…
Awesome Bev. Great milestones are to be celebrated and shared. Christ brings families together. As we are adopted into his Family we share a common thread of love and care for one another. Ziva is a very special little girl who definitely brightens up the world. She’s is a blessing to us all, but esp to her Pa.
