fill empty homes and orphan hearts

Good morning, good people, for years, I lived with pain I couldn’t name — the kind that stole days, sleep, and joy. I was told to “gain weight,” as if that would fix what was wrong inside me. But deep down, I knew something more was happening.

In time, I learned its name: endometriosis — when tissue like the lining of the womb grows outside it, causing pain, scarring, and sometimes infertility.

My journey through tests, hormone treatments, and surgeries was filled with hope and heartbreak. I often felt my body was betraying me. Yet even in that space, one verse anchored me:

“Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them.” – Psalm 119:165

It reminded me that even when my body was in chaos, my heart could rest in God’s peace.

What You Should Know

Endometriosis affects about 1 in 10 women worldwide — that’s nearly 190 million people. Yet diagnosis still takes an average of 7–9 years from the first symptoms. Too many suffer silently, told their pain is “normal.”

Common signs include:

* Painful periods and pelvic pain

* Pain during intimacy

* Fatigue and hormonal imbalance

* Difficulty falling pregnant

Diagnosis is usually confirmed through a laparoscopy, a minor surgery that allows doctors to see and sometimes remove the affected tissue.

Thankfully, treatment options are improving. In 2025, new oral medications were approved in several countries, offering non-surgical relief for pain and heavy bleeding. These options give women more control and fewer hospital visits — a huge step forward.

What I’ve Learned

If you are walking this road, here are a few truths I’ve discovered:

  1. Listen to your body. Pain is not weakness. It’s your body asking to be heard.
  2. Keep faith close. When medicine offered no comfort, God’s Word did. Psalm 119:165 became my prayer for peace in the waiting.
  1. Be your own advocate. Ask questions. Seek second opinions. You know yourself best.
  2. Hold onto hope. Healing doesn’t always come the way we expect — but peace can still find us where we are.

A Note from My Heart

If you’re living with endometriosis, please know this: you are not alone. Your pain is real. Your story matters. And even in the waiting, there is strength being built inside you.

Medicine can help the body — but faith heals the heart. I’m learning to live with both.

“The peace of God, which passes all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds.” – Philippians 4:7
