Good morning good people. We’ve reached the end of September 2022 and it seems so surreal. I saw at a store this week and saw them bringing out the Christmas stock already. We fast approaching the festivities synonymous with this time of year.
I’m not much of a dancer so Ziva and Len refer to my dancing as a speed wobble. That just means to me that I dance to a different beat. On most occasions I’ve stumbled and have learnt to make it part of the dance of life.
It’s about continuity, about consistency, about side stepping toward a beautiful outcome.
On our journey we’ve stumbled more than we’ve danced if I’m honest. The choreography of dodge ball was the sequence of this dance. Saturated with the desire for more than just the two of us led us down a path of obsession. We didn’t realize at that time. The foreboding brought on repetitive patterns of behavior until the moment of surrender. Until the realization that “the steps of a righteous man are ordered by the Lord”
We have and continue as believers to take our reference from the Bible, God’s word and as such we see through the Scriptures many like us whom have gone before us having endured under great struggle without losing their faith.
This past week Ziva has been using the phrase “trust the process” don’t asked me where or how she knows this but she’s being saying it. Got me thinking that the process leads us to God’s will if we stay humble and obedient.
Forgiveness is a major role player of the process. With difficulty we are able to eventually forgive others… just kidding, I know it’s not easy but we get there. How about forgiving ourselves? Our younger, naïve selves who made so many errors in judgment.
Forgive you first, that’s a thought. Don’t go back to the repetitive patterns of the past. Step into the new that God has for your and live light.
“But for you who fear my name, the Sun of Righteousness will rise with healing in his wings. And you will go free, leaping with joy like calves let out to pasture. Malachi 4:2 NLT
Forgiveness will bring healing and a freedom into our lives. I love the imagery of lambs and calves skipping around joyfully and playfully. May we have such abandonment in faith, may we too have a song in our heart, a spring in our step as we righteously follow the pattern laid before us.
Love always
