fill empty homes and orphan hearts

Good morning, good people. ‘No matter how long the winter, Spring is sure to follow…’

September remains the best month of the year for me, I am not sure if it is because it’s my birthday month or simply because Spring is such a special time of year. I know for those who have sinus issues it could be a dreaded month but for me it is a reminder of renewal, God’s making all things new again. Flowers bloom, birds are chirpier and there seems to be a lightness in air and heart.

Years ago I worked for a company called Renfreight in the city CBD, this company was situated on the Victoria Embankment and I recall the walk from the Workshop on Smith Street down to work on chilly winter mornings. People warmly clad, bent over slightly walking against the wind. Come September there is the fragrance of the flowers, the warm Durban sun shining down on you and everyone seems so cheerful and engaging on the walk down to the Esplanade. I miss watching the change of season.

‘And just as sure as seasons are made for change, Our lifetime’s are made for years…’Steven Curtis Chapman

Seasons are sure to change and there are seasons in our lives that are meant for change. There are autumns were things fall apart and become disjointed and unclear. Then there are winters of dryness and cold, rejection and disappointment. Times of feeling alone, isolated and even abandoned. We have to know that Spring will come, we have to believe that with Spring comes newness, refreshing and the revitalization.

Change in season forces you to change your clothing, lifestyle patterns and activities. When the Spring in life appears we have to level up and step into the new God has for us. Remember ‘hope in God is sure hope’

Isaiah 44:1-4
For I will pour water on the thirsty land, and streams on the dry ground; I will pour out my Spirit on your offspring, and my blessing on your descendants. They will spring up like grass in a meadow, like poplar trees by flowing streams.”
Hope Springs Eternal. Love always …..
