Good morning everyone, I have been pondering on this verse of Scripture that I have heard a few times this week.
“Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.” James 1:27 NIV
This is a moment to truly STOP and take cognizance of what is being said. Read it again and let it settle in our hearts. The rituals of religion does not attract the acceptance of the Father but pure religion is to take care of orphans and widows and live a life undefiled by the world.
May our hearts be tweaked into obedience. Agreeing with this instruction and acting on it brings us into agreement with the will of God. Oftentimes we are so caught up in our own vicious cycles. We need to stop the rat race and consider those things that are pertinent to pleasing our God. These are things that are in God’s heart that we are meant to do.
So let’s do it, pure and faultless religion. When we take on His burden, our burdens became lighter.
Sobering thoughts today… May our actions be equal to the instruction.
