A very Merry Christmas from the Khevna Foundation. What a year is has been! 2021 has yielded many moments of deep sorrow and other moments of great jubilation.
While our experiences may have ranged a spectrum of emotions these words inspired by Jody Landers “A child born to another woman calls me mommy. The depth of the tragedy and the magnitude of the privilege is not lost on me” are in my thoughts often.
As the Christmas carols ring out I am reminded of the very first Christmas morning. There was Mary, the baby Jesus and Joseph.
Our firm believe is that Jesus was born by immaculate conception. Which begs question how does Joseph fit into this scenario.
“As he considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream. “Joseph, son of David,” the angel said, “do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife. For the child within her was conceived by the Holy Spirit.” Matthew 1:20 NLT
Joseph, was not part of the conception of Jesus, he did however make the decision to be part of the birth and the life of Jesus. The adoption of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ took place that first Christmas. Joseph adopted and raised the Son of God as his own son. Wow being His dad seems unimaginable.
Yet the plan for redemption included adoption and reveals the heart of God.
May our uncertainties be stilled as we embrace the possibility that “Adoption is an Option.” Be safe as we celebrate the one who loves us without condition.
A very Merry Christmas to all, be safe and enjoy…
Love always
